After a long male dominated field and years and years of male, the NYPD has appointed its first Female Commisioner, Amy Santiago of the 99th Precinct. She previously served as a detective alongside co-workers Charles Boyle, Jake Peralta, Gina Lionetti, Terry Jeffords, and Captain Ray Holt. This is a significant part of history and will be remembered in the years to come. Santiago continues to make history time and time again, making her a role model and inspiration for cuban women and all women across the city. Hopefully Commisioner Santiago will provide the city with the infrustructure it so dearly needs to reform its police department.
